KEDCO: meters, tokens and complaints
- For the STS TID rollover, KEDCO prepaid customers enter two free key change tokens (KCT1 and KCT2) before their next credit token; KEDCO began issuing them in December 2023, with no tariff change. (source)
- In October 2025 KEDCO said it would install at least 128,000 prepaid meters free of charge under the World Bank-backed DISREP programme, starting with unmetered customers in Kano, Katsina and Jigawa. (source)
- By May 2026 KEDCO reported over 40,000 prepaid meters installed in six months, 120,000 more being rolled out, and ATM-enabled self-service kiosks where customers can buy tokens. (source)
