SmartShare is an AidaPay feature for gifting airtime or data to many people with one link and a 6-character redeem code. You set an amount (from ₦1,000), choose airtime or the data bundles people can pick, and set rules such as one claim per number or invite-only numbers. Anyone with the link and the code claims their gift to their own phone number, on the web without an account. Nothing leaves your wallet until someone claims, and you earn your usual cashback on every claim. Networks today: MTN, Airtel and Glo data; MTN airtime.

In the AidaPay app, open Smart Share and tap Create a Smart Share.

  1. Name it and set the amountGive it a short name and the total you want to gift, from ₦1,000.
  2. Choose airtime or dataAirtime: people pick an amount, or you set a fixed or maximum amount per claim. Data: pick the bundles people can choose from (up to 50).
  3. Set the code and the rulesKeep the suggested 6-character redeem code or type your own, then choose who can claim and how often.
  4. Share the link and the codeConfirm with your PIN, then send the link and code on WhatsApp, Instagram, X or anywhere else.

People open your link on any phone or computer. If you allow app claims, they can also paste the link or code in the AidaPay app.

Expiry date

End the Smart Share on a date you choose. Whatever is left simply stays in your wallet.

Decide where people can claim: on the web with no account, only in the AidaPay app, or either.

What is SmartShare on AidaPay?
SmartShare lets you gift airtime or data to friends, family, fans or customers. You set aside an amount and get a link and a 6-character redeem code. Anyone with both can claim their gift to their own phone number, and it is delivered instantly.
Does the person claiming need the AidaPay app?
No, unless you choose otherwise. On the web, people claim with just their phone number, an email for the receipt and the redeem code - no account needed. When you create a Smart Share you can allow claims on the web, in the app, or both.
When is money taken from my wallet?
Only when someone claims. Creating a Smart Share does not debit you; each claim is paid from your wallet at that moment, like a normal purchase. The unclaimed amount is set aside so it stays available, and it is released as soon as you switch the Smart Share off or it expires.
What is the minimum amount?
A Smart Share starts from ₦1,000. Your wallet needs to cover it, together with what is still unclaimed on your other active Smart Shares.
How many people can claim?
As many as the amount covers. You can limit it with rules: one claim per phone number, device or account, a fixed or maximum amount per claim for airtime, time between claims, an expiry date, or a list of up to 100 invited numbers.
Which networks are supported?
Today: MTN, Airtel and Glo for data, and MTN for airtime. The network is detected from the phone number when someone claims.
What happens if a delivery fails?
The amount goes back into your Smart Share, so it can still be claimed. Nothing is lost.
Do I earn cashback?
Yes. Every claim is a purchase from your wallet, so you earn your usual cashback on each one. The Smart Share shows the cashback earned so far.
Can I change a Smart Share after sharing it?
Yes. You can rename it, change the amount, switch it off and on, and for data replace the bundles. Changing the claim rules costs ₦100 each time. The type (airtime or data) and the redeem code stay the same.
