Imole IBEDC: Chatbot, App or 07001239999 for Your Token Issue?
IBEDC's Imole chatbot still handles missing tokens and bill checks. For MAP IDs, bill history and the 9 Sept 2026 meter prices, here's which channel to use.

IBEDC's new meter prices took effect on 9 September 2026. Days earlier, the IBEDC App started showing MAP IDs. The Imole IBEDC chatbot hasn't gone anywhere, though, and it still sorts out missing tokens and bill checks around the clock at imole.ibedc.com or through the "Talk with Imole!" box on ibedc.com.
So which one should you open when something goes wrong? That depends on the problem. Pick the right channel first and you won't waste a whole evening retrying the wrong one.
Where to find the Imole IBEDC chat, and what it handles
Imole went live in July 2023. IBEDC built it as a round-the-clock helper for tokens, bill checks and bill payments. On your phone, open imole.ibedc.com in any browser, or scroll the IBEDC home page or its payments page until you see the "Talk with Imole!" box and tap it.
For anything outside those jobs, such as a disputed meter reading, the customer line is quicker.
Imole also generates KCT codes. After a meter upgrade, these are the two long codes you key in before a fresh energy token will load. IBEDC sends people to this chat for them. Keep your meter number ready. For a missing token, keep the transaction reference from your receipt right beside your meter number, because Imole wants both.
IBEDC customer care number, app and portal were already there before September
Call 07001239999 for IBEDC customer service. When that line keeps ringing out, try 09155009999. Written complaints go to customercare@ibedc.com, and email is the one to pick when you want a paper trail, because a phone call leaves you with nothing to show later.
The IBEDC App
IBEDC's own app is on the App Store and Google Play, and it comes with fingerprint and face login, a wallet and saved beneficiaries. For a brand-new grid connection, request the account in the app and skip the queue at an IBEDC office.
Current and past bills sit next to your payment history. Both download as JPG pictures, handy when a landlord or co-tenant wants proof you paid your share.
Reviews are harsh. On the App Store the app sits at 2.0 stars, and reviewers keep complaining about logging in and buying tokens, so save the phone line as a backup.
The customer portal
Log in at customer.ibedc.com with a Unique ID and a password. The first time, that password is your meter number or account number, and when you get locked out later, the "Forgot Password?" link sits on the same page.
Paying
To pay your IBEDC bill online, use the IBEDCPay portal, a bank app or one of the approved online vendors on ibedc.com/payments. USSD, payment agents and IBEDC cash offices work too. Before you pay twice because a vendor's receipt looks odd, run it through the receipt verification tool on that same page.
Who this affects: MAP applicants, token buyers and Band A customers
Each group below has its own fix. On postpaid, paying one monthly bill, you can skip ahead: neither the app update nor the new meter prices change your routine.

Applying for a meter under MAP
MAP is the Meter Asset Provider scheme. You pay for the meter yourself, and IBEDC refunds that cost to you later as energy credit.
Open ibedc.com/new_metering before you pay anyone. The single-phase and three-phase prices appear there as an image rather than text, so zoom in on a small screen to read them. You pay no application fee and no processing fee. Installation starts about ten working days after your payment clears.
Before you commit, it helps to work out your IBEDC MAP refund so you know roughly how much energy credit comes back to you over time.
Once IBEDC generates your MAP ID, the updated app shows it, from version 3.3.3 onward. Check there first. Sitting on hold just to ask whether your application has moved is a slow way to lose an afternoon.
A prepaid token that never arrived
You buy units at night and the debit alert lands, yet the meter still shows yesterday's balance and the fridge in the corner goes quiet. Here's the fix:
- Find the transaction reference on your payment receipt.
- Open imole.ibedc.com, or call the customer line.
- Give your meter number and the transaction reference.
Should that fail, email customercare@ibedc.com and keep whatever comes back. What to do when a token fails or never arrives covers the rest, including what to look at on the meter before you call.
Band A compensation
On 4 June 2026, IBEDC announced special compensation for more than 50,000 eligible Band A customers who lost supply during that year's February and March shortfalls. To claim yours:
- Open ibedc.com/compensationtokens.
- Enter your meter number.
- Tap "Get Token".
- Key the token into your meter.
Supply hasn't returned everywhere. As at early October 2026, Moniya Railway and Railway (Papa) were still out. Both are 33kV feeders.
Which IBEDC channel to use this week, by problem
Match the problem to the channel and you'll spend far less time on hold.
| Your problem | Where to go |
|---|---|
| Token not delivered | Imole IBEDC chat or the customer line, with your transaction reference ready |
| Bill or payment history | The IBEDC App or customer.ibedc.com |
| MAP ID or a new account request | The IBEDC App, updated to the latest version |
| New meter prices | ibedc.com/new_metering |
| No fix after a complaint | customercare@ibedc.com first, and keep the reply; if it stays unresolved, take it to the NERC Customer Complaints Forum office for your area |
You can also buy an IBEDC token on AidaPay, anywhere from ₦5,000 up to ₦60,000 a purchase. Every purchase earns 0.15% cashback, so the smallest token brings ₦7.50 back. Your receipt in History carries the transaction reference, and that's the first thing anyone will ask for when a token goes missing. Prices and ratings as at 10 October 2026.
For anything under that amount, use one of the channels on ibedc.com/payments.
Do one thing today: save 07001239999 in your phone, before the next token goes missing and you're sitting in the dark scrolling through old messages to find it.
