How to Stop All Subscriptions on MTN: *305# Cancel All, Not 2442
Dial *305#, open Active Services and tap Cancel All. Here's what that menu misses, from CallerTunez to data auto-renewal, and who to call if charges continue.

Dial *305#, choose Active Services, then pick Cancel All. That one menu wipes every value-added service on your MTN line in a single go. Want only one gone? Pick it from the list and leave the rest alone.
Value-added services, or VAS, are the extras billed on top of calls, texts and data: news alerts, content clubs and daily-charge services you don't remember joining. 305 is the NCC's harmonised Stop-service code. Every network had to adopt it, along with a dozen other short codes, by May 2023. So if you're working out how to stop all subscriptions on MTN, Airtel, Glo or T2, you start with the same code.
Codes and cashback rates are correct as at 17 October 2026.
- Dial *305# from the MTN line that keeps losing airtime.
- Choose Active Services.
- Choose Cancel All, or choose one service to remove only that one.
- Wait for the SMS. It reads something like "You have unsubscribed from Everyday News". Keep it as proof.
What *305# won't stop: auto-renewal, CallerTunez, promo texts
A few common drains sit outside that menu. Each one has its own exit.
Data auto-renewal is the one people miss most. A monthly bundle set to renew takes your airtime on renewal day without asking, and *305# never lists it, so you could clear the whole menu and still watch your balance drop. The renewal isn't a fault. Your bundle is doing exactly what it was set up to do. You can cancel MTN data auto-renewal with *312*1*12# instead.
CallerTunez works differently. Sending Del plus the tune code to 309 removes one song, but you stay subscribed to the bundle, so deleting the song only feels like the job is done. To end the charges, text STOP to 309. REG and Cancel won't switch it off.
Still paying for a tune after that? You may be on MTN MyTunez, which is a separate product with its own exit. Text CANCEL to 4100 to leave it, or dial *410#.
DND (Do Not Disturb) is free. You switch it on by texting STOP to 2442, and it blocks unsolicited promotional texts and calls. It cancels nothing you already pay for, though. Think of it as a gate that keeps new junk out, not a broom for the junk already inside. Most people need both: *305# for the services already billing them, and DND for the promo texts that bait new sign-ups in the first place.
You may also see tips telling you to text STOP to 305. That SMS route isn't an official one, and it gives you no list to check. Stick with the *305# menu, which sends a confirmation you can keep.
How to check your MTN subscriptions before you cancel
Open Active Services first and write down every name on it. If the list holds a service you joined on purpose and actually use, skip Cancel All and remove the others one at a time, so you don't have to hunt for a way back in later. Then cancel. Open the same list straight after and make sure it shows only what you chose to keep.
Check again the next morning.
Some services bill one last time on their next daily cycle, so a single deduction the day after doesn't mean your cancellation failed. Small charges at the same hour every day, often overnight, usually point to a daily-charge VAS. Note the date, the amount and any service name in each deduction SMS. That record does the heavy lifting if you ever have to complain.
Still being charged? Call 300, then NCC 622
Call 300 and don't hang up without a complaint ticket number. Give the agent the service name, the dates and the amounts from your notes. MTN also takes complaints in the MyMTN NG app and by email at customercare.ng@mtn.com, and Zigi, its WhatsApp chatbot, sits on 09033000001.
If MTN doesn't fix it, call 622. That's the NCC's toll-free line for people who've already complained to their network and got nowhere. Have your ticket number ready before you dial.
Don't count on an automatic refund. The NCC has moved against forced VAS sign-ups before and told operators to refund affected customers, but each complaint still turns on its own facts. Screenshots of every deduction text give yours the best chance.
How to stop all subscriptions on MTN for good
Most VAS sign-ups start with one careless tap. Never reply YES or 1 to a promo text, even one that swears you've won something, and ignore the pop-ups and flash-call prompts asking you to claim a prize. Leave DND on. Once a month, open Active Services and clear anything new.
It also helps to top up only what you plan to use, because a stray subscription then has less airtime to eat.
When you buy MTN airtime on AidaPay, you get ₦18 cashback on a ₦1,000 top-up. For every other code on your line, keep our full list of MTN USSD codes handy.
Dial *305# tonight, then open Active Services again tomorrow morning and make sure nothing new has crept back in.
