Airtel Night Plan 2026: ₦50 for 250MB vs 2GB YouTube Night Bonus

Seen the same bundle going for ₦25 somewhere? Ignore it, because that price is out of date. The second section explains why, so read it before you dial anything.

Daily plans run at any hour. Night data works on any app too, but only inside its five-hour window, and after that your phone falls back to whatever else is on the line.

How to subscribe on *312#

Airtel keeps its data plans under *312#, and the night bundle sits inside that menu. Labels change a little from one tariff to another. Look for the option showing ₦50.

1. Dial *312# from the Airtel line you want to load.
2. Choose the data plans option from the menu.
3. Pick the night option that shows ₦50.
4. Confirm, then wait for the SMS before you start downloading.

If you'd rather tap than dial, open the My Airtel app, find the night bundle under data and tap Buy Now.

Why your night plan isn't working or showing

• No SMS yet: give it a few minutes, then check your balance with the codes further down.
• Wrong price on screen: back out, because your tariff may show a different menu.
• Data stopped early: the bundle is used up.
• Bought before midnight: wait, because the data only starts once the night window opens, and nothing you do on the phone will switch it on any sooner.

That's not much data. A few app updates, a couple of documents from Google Drive and a short spell of low-quality video will finish it, so a full night of YouTube simply won't fit.

The ₦25 SmartTRYBE price and *412#: not today's plan

₦25 was the SmartTRYBE price. SmartTRYBE is Airtel's youth tariff, and a tariff is the package that sets your call rates and bundle prices, so switching one changes far more than your night data.

Today's night bundle is the ₦50 one in the table above. Forget *412# as well. That code travels with the old price and isn't the data-plans code, so buy through *312#.

Before you switch to SmartTRYBE, find out what it does to your call rates and other bundles on your own line. Read every menu screen slowly, because one wrong press is easy when you're half asleep at midnight. If the price isn't the one you came for, back out without confirming.

Check your Airtel night data balance: *323# and *140#

Once midnight passes, dial *323# to see what's left. *140# is a second balance code that does the same job. For everything else, keep the full list of Airtel USSD codes, including balance checks handy on your phone.

You might already have night data: the 2GB YouTube Night bonus

Check the plan you bought last week first. Plenty of Airtel weekly and monthly plans carry a 2GB bonus called YouTube Night, and that same bonus line throws in some extra data for YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.

Not every plan has it. The two cheapest weekly plans and the two biggest monthly ones come without it, while the two binge plans get a smaller version.

There's a catch. The bonus only works between midnight and 5am, and only while your plan is still valid. On top of that, it's locked to the YouTube app or website, so WhatsApp and ordinary web pages won't load on it. Treat it as a YouTube pass and nothing more.

₦50 a night or a plan with the YouTube bonus: which fits you

It depends on what you do after midnight.

Pick the Airtel night plan if your nights go on general downloads, like app updates or a Google Drive folder for class. Bought every night for a month, it adds up to 7.5GB of any-app data, but every megabyte of it is stuck inside those five early hours.

A monthly plan works differently, because its data runs at any hour and the YouTube-only bonus still kicks in after midnight. You get less night data. Daytime WhatsApp is covered, though, and that matters, because the family group chat never sleeps.

If it's mostly YouTube after midnight, skip the night pack, since your bundle's bonus already does that job.

Buying for your child or your mum is trickier. They'd have to buy the night plan on their own phone, through their own menu, which is a lot to ask of anyone who just wants their data to work. Far easier: send an Airtel weekly or monthly plan to another number, and the YouTube Night bonus travels with it.
