How do I check my data balance?
Dial *323# - the NCC data balance code works on every network. Each network also has its own direct code or SMS, listed below with its source.

The balance shows your main data, any bonus data and when it expires.
The reply shows your main data, any bonus data and when it expires. A "-" means we did not find an SMS option on the network's own pages, so we do not list one.
Data balance code for each network
MTN
Dial *323*4# to see your main and bonus data with the expiry date. The general *323# opens a menu first; MTN's own help pages give *323*4#, which skips it. Prefer SMS? Text 2 to 323. Running low? See today's MTN data plans and prices.
Airtel
Dial *323#. Airtel says it shows your data balance and the expiry date. We found no official SMS option on airtel.com.ng. Top up with cheap Airtel data.
Glo
Dial *323#, or send INFO to 312. Glo's general FAQ also mentions *323*0#, but the same FAQ, Glo's bulk data page and a 2026 post from Glo's official account all use *323#, so that is the one to dial. Buy Glo data when you need more.
T2 (formerly 9mobile)
Dial *323#. The official T2 account on X gave this code in February 2025, and it is also the NCC code. Older 9mobile balance codes are retired (see codes that no longer work). See T2 data plans.
Checking SME, CG and gifting data balance
Data bought from a vendor - SME, corporate gifting (CG) or gifting - lands on your line like any other bundle, so the same balance code usually shows it.
On Glo, bulk and corporate data shows under *323#. MTN and Airtel no longer sell SME data to the public - see what SME data is and what replaced it.
How to check airtime balance
Many people want both balances at once. Airtime balance uses the NCC code *310# on every network.

Many sites still print old codes. These are the ones our sources flag:
- T2 (9mobile) *228# and *232# - retired. Use *323#.
- Glo *323*0# - an older variant still printed in one Glo FAQ. Use *323#.
If a code gives an error, dial the NCC code for the same task from the table below - the prefix is the same on every network.
